Let’s talk about fear Super Briefly. Germans aren’t afraid of things so much as they have a fear of things
Angst haben - to be afraid
If you want to say you are afraid you would say “ich habe Angst.”
If you were afraid of spiders and needed to tell someone you would say to them “ich habe Angst vor Spinnen!”
